Original STAUFF clamps according to DIN 3015, Part 1

Standard Series: the first choice for light to medium loads

With the Standard Series according to DIN 3015-1 (Fastening clamps - Block clamps - Part 1: Light duty [L]), STAUFF offers a modular system for easy and reliable attaching of tubes, hoses, electric cables, rigid and flexible lines, and other components. As a standard, the series covers all common metric and imperial diameters between 6 and 102 mm. This means that the component from the Standard Series are suitable for applications with light to medium loads on the lines.

Large selection of clamp bodies

The core of the Standard Series is formed by the clamp bodies, which consist of two mirrored, i.e. identical, clamp halves. These clamp bodies achieve highly effective vibration damping and noise reduction. This allows STAUFF clamps from this series to make a substantial contribution to preventive health and safety and environmental protection.

Materials and resistances

The clamp bodies are manufactured from high-quality plastic as a standard and are therefore resistant to UV radiation, weather and chemicals:The typically used materials are polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PA) and thermoplastic elastomer or full rubber (SA). Flame-retardant materials are also available to meet individual fire protection requirements. Aluminium (Al) clamp bodies are also part of the standard range. The elements can optionally also be machined from stainless steel.

STAUFF polypropylene clamp bodies are usually green. Black polypropylene clamps are optionally available. PA clamps and full-rubber clamp bodies are also black as a standard.

Smooth and ribbed versions

The STAUFF range of standard clamp bodies includes smooth and ribbed versions:

Clamp bodies with a ribbed inner surface and pre-tensioning are recommended for reliable attaching of tubes. They should preferably be used as a fixed-point clamp, where the tube is clamped between the two halves of the clamp. The outer diameter of the line to be attached corresponds to the inner diameter of the clamp body as shown in the catalogue and on the product itself. The gap between the two clamp halves ensures the appropriate pre-tensioning during attaching. The recommended screw tightening torques and maximum tube retention forces defined in the product catalogue must be observed.

Clamp bodies with a smooth inner surface and without pre-tensioning (type H) are recommended for reliable attaching of hoses and cables.Smooth inner surfaces and chamfered edges prevent damage to hoses and cables. The outer diameter of the line to be attached corresponds to the inner diameter of the clamp body as shown in the catalogue and on the product itself. The following applies for use as a floating bearing: The inner diameter of the clamp body stated in the catalogue and on the product itself is selected to be marginally larger than the outer diameter of the line to be attached (in accordance with the specific requirements), so that the line is only guided by the clamp body rather than clamped.

Clamp bodies with elastomer insert (type R) are suitable for noise-reducing and vibration-reducing attaching of tubes and for particularly gentle fastening of hoses and cables. This is a standardised clamp body profile for precision seating of an insert (type RI) made of thermoplastic elastomer or a similar material, typically with a Shore hardness between 55 Shore A and 87 Shore A.

Weld plates, rail nuts, cover plates and other accessories

STAUFF offers a range of accessories for clamps in the Standard Series that is unrivalled in its scope, quality and availability.

This includes weld plates in all available versions, which are used as base plates or ground plates. In addition to simple weld plates, this also includes bridge weld plates, angled weld plates as well as double and multi weld plates.

Rail nuts from STAUFF allow the installation of tube clamps, hose clamps and cable clamps on mounting rails and C-rails, which are available in different heights. In contrast to the usual variants using welding or screws, the position of the clamps can easily be adjusted along the mounting rail before final tightening. Clamps can also easily be added or removed later on through the openings in the side of the mounting rail. To meet the growing demand for easier mounting, removal and increased strength, the rail nuts were recently optimised further and adapted the rail contour. The lower section was lightly chamfered on both ends, so that the rail nuts can now be screwed in further to create additional contact surface area against the mounting rail. The grooves on the top promote a firmer seating of the rail nuts in the mounting rail. The interaction of chamfers and grooves ensures that the rail nuts remain in position even during temporary removal of clamps and no longer fall or slide out of the mounting rail as easily as before. The geometry of the rail nut in the upper section was adapted so that the plastic cap, which ensures secure seating of the clamp body for vertical and overhead installation, now no longer slides from the steel part and becomes lost as easily.

STAUFF CRA channel rail adaptors allow Standard Series STAUFF clamps in block form to be easily and safely adapted to different profile rails from a number of renowned manufacturers. This allows tubes and hoses as well as cables and other components to be easily installed and then adjusted at any time later on.

Also included in the accessories range: Cover plates, safety locking plates, locking washers and safety washers for example in accordance with DIN 93 (with one wing) and DIN 463 (with two wings).

As a standard, STAUFF supplies hexagon head screws, i.e. screws with a hexagon head type AS according to DIN 931 (with shaft) or DIN 933 (thread up to the head) or ANSI/ASME B18.2.1., hexagon socket screws, i.e. cheese-head screws with a hexagon socket type IS according to ISO 4762 (previously DIN 912) or ANSI/ASME B18.3., slotted screws, i.e. cheese-head screws with a slot or raised-head screws of type LI according to ISO 1207 or ANSI/ASME B18.6.3. as well as stacking screws according to the STAUFF factory standard.

In terms of materials, the entire accessories range is available in steel or stainless steel in the qualities V2A 1.4301/1.4305 (AISI 304/303) and V4A 1.4401/1.4571 (AISI 316/316 Ti). The steel variants are supplied with different coatings from the factory (phosphated, plain/uncoated, zinc-nickel coating). The special STAUFF zinc/nickel coating offers reliable corrosion protection that goes far beyond previous market standards – even after transport, processing and assembly of the components. This was confirmed by tests in a salt spray chamber in line with EN ISO 9227.

Complete clamps consisting of clamp bodies and accessories

In addition to the individual parts, STAUFF also offers complete sets, i.e. clamp combinations from the Standard Series according to DIN 3015 Part 1, consisting of clamp bodies and all required fasteners and other assembly accessories: cover plates, weld plates, safety locking plates, rail nuts, channel rail adaptors and bolts. Optionally, these complete clamps can be packaged as sets or delivered pre-assembled.
